Chef Martin Kaspar
Martin Kaspar, a Swiss National, started his culinary carrier in a small “Gasthof” in the middle of Switzerland. He refined his culinary skills in Switzerland, Israel, Sweden and then moved to Manila to be part of the kitchen Team in the Hyatt Hotel. In 1988 he was the representative for the Philippines at the Junior World Challenge in South Africa where he placed a spot in the finals. Shorty after he joined the Grand Dame “The Manila Hotel” and was appointed in 1993 as the Executive Chef. During his stay at the Manila Hotel, he was in charge of all official State Function at the Presidential Palace. Martin then moved on and was part of the opening team of the Boutique Byron Hotel and later opened the Restaurant “Stars of Giorgio”. In 2000 he joined Swissotel in Zurich and moved to Swissotel Sydney in 2008. 2010 he moved “back home” as he said, and opened in August 2010 the l’entrecôte Restaurant. Martin has participated in international competition and won various awards. The most prestigious was the “Golden Duck Challenge 2000” in Switzerland where he won first place.
